About Me
Rochelle McPherson, DPT, FAAOMPT
I ventured out of my home town in Ligonier, PA, to attend Boston College where I received my bachelor of arts in Psychology. I always had a strong draw towards the field of Physical Therapy as a competitive dancer and as the daughter of a physical therapist and private practice owner. I enrolled for graduate school at Boston University where I earned my Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT) at Sargent College of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences in 2011. An underlying drive to continually grow my knowledge, skills, and confidence that I was caring for my patients with the best available treatment propelled me into more and more training and continuing education. I attended the Institute of Orthopaedic Manual Therapy (IOMT) residency program, and the following year was accepted into the Boston University Fellowship in Manual Physical Therapy Program, which earned me recognition as a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapy (FAAOMPT) in 2016. Before moving to Maine, I worked at Boston University Physical Therapy Center in their outpatient sports medicine clinic and also in their outpatient neurorehabilitation center where I specialized in caring for people with Parkinson Disease. BUPT holds a special place in my heart due to its ability to be at the crux of clinical care, research, education, and implementing evidence based practice. I had the awesome opportunity at BU to teach many clinical students at all levels within the DPT program, and to become a mentor in the Manual Physical Therapy Fellowship Program.
